Copenhagen's Best Rooftop Bars

June 1, 2026

Copenhagen is not a city of tall buildings, and that only makes it better. When you finally get above the rooftops, the views over spires, canals and red-tiled rooftops are something genuinely special. In recent years, rooftop bars have been popping up across the city, and they are all quite different. What they share is that they are best from May to September, when the evening light in Copenhagen is one of the most beautiful in Europe. Here are six rooftop bars worth visiting in the spring and summer of 2026.

Nimb Roof

Bernstorffsgade 5, 1577 København V

nimb.dk/en/nimb-roof@nimbcopenhagen

Not many rooftop bars come with a heated Italian mosaic pool. Nimb Roof does. On top of the exclusive Nimb Hotel is one of the most refined outdoor experiences in the city. Sun loungers, a cocktail bar and views over the fairy-lit gardens below in Tivoli. Primarily reserved for hotel guests and Nimb Club members, but on selected summer evenings it opens to the public. Check the dates and book ahead.

Grand Joanne Rooftop

One of the most accessible rooftop bars in the city. You do not need to stay at the hotel to get up there. Take the elevator to the sixth floor of a beautifully restored 19th-century building and step out onto a lush terrace with lounge furniture and Riviera-style parasols. The view takes in Tivoli, the Central Station and the rooftops of most of the city center. They serve cocktails, local wines and light bites from April to October.

ROOF – Bar & Lounge

Strandgade 7, 1401 København K

ROOF sits on the 8th floor of NH Collection Copenhagen, a DGNB-certified building right on the waterfront on Christianshavn. The views are impressive in every direction, and the cocktail menu reads like a love letter to the city. Each drink is named after a Copenhagen landmark: the Opera House, the Marble Church, the canals. Open from April to October. For cooler evenings there is a heated indoor pergola.

Level Six

Frederiksborggade 18, 1360 København K

levelsix.dk@levelsix_cph

Right in the middle of the city, directly above Nørreport, you will find Level Six. The views from here are some of the best in central Copenhagen: Rosenborg Castle, the Round Tower and the university rooftops spread out in front of you. The bar is open to everyone, and the cocktail menu is built around 21 different Danish gins. Friday and Saturday from 4pm there is a DJ.

Tramonto

Bryggernes Plads 7, 1799 København V

tramonto.dk@tramonto.copenhagen

Tramonto means sunset in Italian, and that is exactly what this place is made for. The rooftop bar sits on top of Hotel Ottilia, in the listed historic buildings of Carlsberg City, and offers 360-degree views over Carlsberg's iconic architecture and the rest of the city. The menu is authentic Italian with a Nordic twist, the cocktail bar is well-stocked and the atmosphere carries well into the evening. Open Monday to Friday from noon, weekends from 1pm.

SILO CPH

Helsinkigade 29, 18. sal, 2150 Nordhavn

silocph.dk@silocph

62 meters above Nordhavn, in the old grain silo designed by COBE, you'll find the most dramatic view in Copenhagen. Floor-to-ceiling windows look out toward the Swedish coast to the east and the city's spires to the west. SILO CPH is not just a rooftop bar — it's an entire universe: smørrebrød at lunch, Nordic-French cuisine in the evening, and a cocktail bar with classic drinks and signatures with a SILO twist.
